Mountain Picnic

The boys love to go on picnics and they love to go to the mountains.  We loaded up the car and went to Nederland and had a picnic at the park.

We then went over to the carousal and rode a couple of times.

The boys found their animals. (Trevin got on his after this picture was taken).  Gavin wasn't too thrilled with sitting here until the ride and music started.

I'm Ready

One day coming back from the park we found this swimming pool in the vacant lot and carried it home.  I took it back to my house so the boys could use it there, but before I did, Gavin was ready to use it right away.

Parks and Recreation

I have not been keeping up with the blog and have quite a bit of catching up to do.  Back to last summer.  We went to the park almost every day I had the boys.  Kaiden and Trevin rode their bikes while I followed far behind with Gavin in his stroller.

We left as soon as breakfast was done before the day heated up too much because there is very little shade at the park.

Gavin did his best to keep up with his brothers climbing to the top of the big slides.  

Ten!!!!

Kaiden hit double digits yesterday.  Ten!  It doesn't seem possible that he can be that old.  It seems just like yesterday he came into our lives and completely changed them for the better.  We love you.

Old enough to be that tiny figure at the top on the zip line.  His mom says she wasn't nervous about him doing this.

Christmas 2018

Christmas this year was subdued.  Kaiden came over not feeling well and spent the afternoon in bed.  Gavin started feeling bad after we ate and slept the rest of the day.  Barbara and Gary left early as Barbara was having shoulder replacement in 2 days and did not want to get sick. 

We did have a nice meal and exchanged gifts.  Kaiden perked up enough to open his gifts.  

Traditions

 A few weeks ago the word tradition came up in a conversation and Trevin didn't know what it meant.  I explained it to him and he said that's like when we get together every year and decorate cookies for Christmas and then eat one when we go look at Christmas lights and we haven't done that yet this year.

So yesterday we decorated cookies and then went to look at the Christmas lights.

They get pretty creative with what they can find - pretzels, peanuts, chocolate chips, dried cranberries, marshmallows along with sprinkles - plenty of sprinkles.

This was the first year Gavin took part in the tradition.  He was very excited.

Mostly about eating the decorations.

He was very excited about looking at the Christmas lights.  I hope we get to do this tradition for many more years.
