Gratitude #6

A few weeks ago our reading at church was from Genesis 17 where the Lord promises Abraham he will be the father of nations.  Part of this passage says " I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless and I will may my covenant between me and you, and will make you exceedingly numerous".  The Abram fell on his face...  Kaiden looked at me and said "He fell on his face, oh no."  I know that Kaiden benefits from being in church and I know that he pays attention to the music and his parents have taught him the Lord's prayer, but sometimes he just seems so busy looking at his book, coloring his papers that I wasn't sure how much he was really taking in.  I looked at him and thought, he is soaking all this in just as he does everything else around him.  I am so grateful that his parents choose to bring him to church.  I am so grateful that he is getting this experience.

Gratitude #5

About a week after my battery went dead in the Church parking lot, it did it again.  This time in front of Nathan and Stacy's house.  I am grateful that it is now fixed and if it had to do it again, it was in a place where help was readily available.  While Nathan was hooking up the jumper cables, I stood with Kaiden who kept asking "Gram, do you need gas?"

Graditude #4

My gratitude #4 is the pot of gold I found with this group of women. We play Bunco once a month and it is usually just what I need.  An evening full of laughter and love.  We have been through so much, weddings, divorces, births, deaths and we all know that we have support in this group.  We have been playing together for so long that some of the children have grown up and now play with us.  We met last night and found  a leprechaun!
This is my friend, Jean.  She works in an oncologists office and they went all out yesterday.  She brought a little bit of the green for all of us.
Shamrock glasses.
Blinking necklaces.
Bracelets, pins and headbands.  Babs already had her hat!  I am so thankful for this amazing group of women and look forward to a wonderful night with them each month.

This morning I happened to think, Jean lives on Rainbow Dr.!

Story Teller

I may read stories to him, but Tito tells stories spun from his imagination.

He is delighted to hear them and Tito is delighted to tell them.

Spring Fever

The weekend was beautiful.  I know winter isn't over, that we will still get snow, but it was a nice break.  We went outside to work in the yard and there is quite a bit of green showing up!
Kaiden was digging for seashells and dinosaur bones.  He found both!  What a joy to watch his imagination.
Then we went to the park and he climbed and climbed and came down the slides, but I think his favorite was the swing.
He kept asking for more and higher.

Gratitude #3

Gratitude that if my battery had to act up and my car wouldn't start and Tito was out of town it did it in the church parking lot, with John and Janice parked next to me.  They jump started my car, followed me home and John cleaned the corrosion off the posts.  The car worked fine today.   What wonderful friends!  God was watching over me!

Motorcycles

Last weekend we took Kaiden with us to run some errands and ended up near the motorcycle dealership.  So the boys had to go look....
Day dreaming with Tito
Look, its my favorite color!
What do you think Tito is trying to talk him into?

Gratitude #2

My gratitude is that my sister is at home and doing better.  She was at the emergency room three times, admitted to the hospital, taken to another hospital in an ambulance and was in a car accident -all in the last week.  She had some signs she was suffering a stroke, had a bleed on her brain and bruised ribs from the car accident.  They now think her symptoms were because she needed some of her meds adjusted.  They are working on that and there is still cause for concern, but she seems to be doing better.  Her daughter was driving her home from the hospital when they were involved in an accident - everyone is sore, but okay.

A humorous footnote to this week - the doctor was the same all three times she went to the ER.  The last time she was there, he told her he should give her his home address so she wouldn't have to come to the hospital to see him.
