Busy Weekend

We had a wonderful, busy weekend with family. On Thanksgiving we celebrated in 2 stages as the kids had other places to be. Throughout the day my sisters were here, both kids, a cousin and of course this little guy. Janice gave him the Bronco outfit to wear for the big game and wanted a picture of him. This was the best one we could get, he kept pulling the hat off and crawling away. The day after Thanksgiving, Tito and I decorated the house. No shopping on Black Friday for me. I don't like to shop anyway and not at all with crowds. On Saturday night the kids came over to put the decorations on the tree. I love unwrapping each ornament and remembering were they came from and listening to the kids and their memories of the different items and Christmas over the years.
I was a little worried about Kaiden and the tree, but he was only interested in it when someone was holding him up to the tree (so far at least - we'll see how long that lasts).

He was much more interested in the storage box

pulling himself up

and pushing it across the floor.

Happy Birthday, Millie!

On a Thanksgiving years ago, my mother cooked the meal, but didn't get to eat because my sister, Millie was born. This year her birthday is on Thanksgiving again. Millie is on the left

In her Air Force uniform

Most of the current pictures I have of Millie are with our other sister, Ruby. Millie is smiling in this one. She has the best smile and laugh. I love you Millie. Happy Birthday.

She has a grandson, born on her birthday, on Thanksgiving. So, Happy Birthday, Christopher!

Thankful

Earlier this month, my niece posted on Facebook a challenge to update your status each day starting Today I am thankful.....

I took the challenge and have found that each day I am looking at how blessed I am. Several others have taken the challenge and I have been amazed at the wide variety of things people are thankful for - the bargains they found while shopping, the love of their spouse, the fact their parents taught them manners, the technology we have today, jobs, family, pets, old photos, phone calls from friends far away to name just a few.

Here are some of mine:

  • Tito has dinner ready when I get home from work
  • Carrie and David and the sense of adventure they bring to the family
  • Tito does much of the housework so we can play on the weekends
  • Nathan and Stacy and their sense of family
  • The last budget leaving my desk (yeah)
  • My bunco buddies
  • Nathan and Stacy believe it is important to bring Kaiden to church

I have enjoyed this challenge and plan on continuing to look each day at how blessed I am in not only the big things such as family and friends, but the little things everyday. Like the wonderful smile on this little guy's face.

Playing with Dad

I love these pictures of Kaiden with his Dad, laughing, making faces, climbing on him. It makes my heart so happy to see my son with his son, to see how loving he is to his family.

Killing Time

After we had our family pictures taken on Saturday, we had to wait to see the proofs, so we walked around the store to kill time. Tito discovered discounted Halloween hats
Kaiden discovered a car attached to a shopping cart

and was entertained for quite some time.

Happy Birthday, Tito

Happy Birthday to the only one I know with two birthdays. Until he was 20 years old , his birthday was celebrated on the 16th. Then came the day he applied for his first passport and his birth certificate listed his birthday as the 15th. He says he can still hear his mom arguing that he was born on the 16th! But in the end, his birthday is officially the 15th because that is what the official document says. I tend to believe his mother.

We actually celebrated yesterday. All of us went and had our picture taken at a studio - something he wanted and then came back to the house for a family dinner. It was a good day.

Happy Birthday, my love.

Studying Tito

When you are only nine months old two months is a long time. Kaiden spent a long time last night studying Tito. By the end of the evening he had warmed up a quite a bit especially after Tito fed him dinner. By this morning in church, he was smiling and letting Tito hold him. Tito is happy.

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary, my sweetie. We have really been through it all - for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. I love you so much and I am so happy you are home!

I'm Glad

I'm glad that Tito was able to be in California the three weeks before his father died.

I'm glad that he was able to stay for 2 1/2 weeks after the funeral and help his mother with all the details.

But mostly I'm glad that he is now home after being gone for almost 2 months!

Nine Months

Nine monhs old and in motion - this is how we see him most of the time anymore - on the go!
