When Life Gives You Lemons...

Tito drinks water with a lot of lemon squeezed into it.  I missed the full sour face when Trevin tried it..
But got Kaiden's impression of what Trevin looked like
So at our house when life give you lemons you make faces.

Girls' Weekend

A couple weeks ago, Janice, Vivien and I escaped to Estes Park for a girls' weekend.  We had such a good time.  The only pictures that were taken were of the hummingbirds.  They appeared to be in a feeding frenzy to start their long trek back to South America.  I had never seen so many.

We refilled the feeder three times while we were there and they were fighting over who got to eat, flying around while we took the feeder down and put it back up.  Sitting on the railing waiting, dive bombing each other and us.

We probably ate too much, drank too much, stayed up and talked too much. We introduced Vivien to Jimmy Fallon's Thank You Notes, shopped and bought nothing, tried to interpret a strange dream about stolen a stolen airplane and laptop and dodged hummingbirds.  We, however, I believe, laughed the right amount - which was just about the entire time we were awake.  Thank you both for being such great friends!

And thank you Janice for the pictures!

Chipmunk Cheeks

This little guy loves to eat.  He just keeps stuffing food into his mouth
until he looks like this.  I would take his plate away so he would chew and swallow and then give it back to him.  After I had done that a couple of times, he started handing me his plate when he had filled his mouth or the plate was empty - whichever came first.

Catch Up

Things have been a little crazy around here the last month or so and I haven't made time to get a post done even if I did take the last 5 Fridays as vacation days to use some time I would have lost.  I used part of that time to catch up on some chores around the house that had been neglected due to my broken ankle.

Thankfully I am walking almost normally now.  In mid-July Tito and I went to Estes Park for a long weekend and did nothing but relax.  There was actually a double rainbow but I did not get pictures of it.
We celebrated Carrie's birthday with homemade ice cream.  You can't tell it from this picture but Kaiden was delighted with it and licked the bowl.
Trevin was pretty happy with it also. He is walking much better than I am!
Kaiden went to Vacation Bible School and really enjoyed all of it except for singing.  He stood or sat during the entire program without singing on word!
