Class of 1970

I graduated from high school in a small mountain mining town. Every summer the town celebrates its heritage with Old Timers/Miners Days. Class reunions are often held at the same time. This weekend was my 40th (gasp - is that possible) reunion.
So Kaiden and his parents whose graduating classes were larger than our entire school K-12 and Tito who grew up in LA staked out their spot to watch a parade

led by Grand Marshalls in a bulldozer;

and children and dogs walked;

classic cars lined up;

fire trucks joined in ;

with a rusty truck whose owner joked he only had 11 more payments;

and the best of all - the flat bed carrying the classes of 1960 and 1970 (the seats are from our school's auditorium).

Then everyone headed to the park for lunch -hamburgers and hot dogs - you bring a side dish and catching up with your classmates and others.

Twelve of us attended (2 are not pictured). It was so much fun!

How fun that must have been (o:
I thunk if I remember right there may have been a few Hippies there in the 70's ...lol...
I went to school in Frederick...till high school then weall had to go to either Eir High School or Longmont (which I chose). For the first 9 years of school there were 30 some kids in my class then I went to a school with 500 in my graduating class (I have to look that up because now I am curious how many there were.

Hi there, I had to smile because my 40th reunion is coming up this Sept. but I won't be going-it is back in Ca. and just to pricey to go plus I only have one dear friend I am close with now. Glad you had so much fun, got to get to this town before the summer is over.
Have a great week.

I love the classic cars....well, I just love a parade. Your pictures are great.

I graduated in '65, but from a big high school in Tulsa, OK. It looks like you Nederland guys had a cool reunion.

Woohoo, me too!!! This Ozark farm chick's classes motto was: "Were the class that always ready...we're the class of 1970!" 'Had a little trouble rhyming the '70 thing...and I never really knew what the heck we were ready for. Looks like ya'll had a grand reunion.

From the hot sunny hills and hollers of the Missouri Ponderosa, ya'll have a wonderfully blessed day!!!

We did have a lot of fun. Didn't we? So hard to believe it's been 40 yrs. we still act like we in High School. Kaiden looked like he was enjoying it too. Kat
