Gratitude #12

Today I am grateful for electricity.  We had a power outage last night.  The power was off for over 4 hours.  Everything on my to do list for last night needed electricity.  Everything.  I had sewing to do.  I had ironing to do.  I had baking to do.  We don't run our A/C unless it gets really hot.  Our house stays comfortable with just our ceiling fan most of the time.  But yesterday it was hot - over 100.  It had been over 100 on Friday also.  By the time the power came back on close to 11 last night our house was over 90.  I tried to work on the computer - no Internet because the modem needs electricity.  It got dark, I tried to read by flashlight.  I am not sure what people did when they couldn't sleep before we became so dependent on electricity, but I didn't figure it out last night.  I am very grateful we had power today.  I sewed, I ironed, I baked, we ran our A/C.  It was good.
