At Least it's not Halloween
My backyard when I got home today
The levelest area I could find without walking to0 far into the yard
5 3/4 inches

This is about half of what towns just north of me have and areas of the mountains have over 2 feet. It is snowing harder now and we are only half way through this 36 hour major winter storm
All day long I have been hearing at least it's not Halloween ( it is supposed to be in the 50's on Halloween) and maybe it's a good thing the Rockies didn't make it to the World Series (we really don't believe that do we?) and we need the moisture (I know we do and someone says that every time we have a big snow).
I am not surprised by snow in October. I have lived here all my life and have seen snow in every month ( the snow July and August was in the mountains), but I just hope this isn't how the winter is going to be.

30 Years!
Happy 30th birthday, my dear son. It doesn't seem possible that it was 30 years ago that you changed my life forever. One day you were this little guy that brought so much joy and love to my life and the next... You were a grown man with a family of your own that brings so much joy and love...
I am so proud of you and what you have accomplished and of the way you love your family. Happy Birthday, my son.
p.s. did you notice the time on the post?

Tears and Laughter
We gathered over the weekend to say goodbye to my father-in-law. It was a weekend filled with tears and laughter. My sister-in-law, Margie gave a touching tribute to her father, her husband, Roger gave a beautiful eulogy. Each were filled with laughter and tears, remembering the stories which make up the life of a family. The older grandchildren who live close served as pall bearers. One of the most poignant moments was when our nephew, Greg, who is in the Marine reserve accepted the flag from the color guard and then presented it to his Tita.
After the services, we went back to the house the 5 children grew up in to celebrate their father's life. We ate food he would have loved, tamales, carnitas, beans and rice. We gathered in Rick's lounge and shared stories of the man we all loved. We laughed, we cried.
At the end of the day, some of us gathered on Tita's bed to say good night. This house is so filled with the memories of this family, this wonderful, wacky, loving family who extends their arms to not only those of us who married into the family, but many others, many friends who will miss John. We will miss him, but his legacy lives in the kind, loving wife he left behind and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I know he is proud and would want us to laugh more than cry.

My Day With Gram
I spent the day with Gram
I helped her with Farmville I played with my favorite toy
I helped with the laundry
I helped with the laundry
I had lunch
I helped wrap Dad's birthday present, but I was having so much fun with the box, Gram found another one - one she didn't have to wrap and we all know she would rather find a box she only has to tie a bow around

Tito's Home, Tito's Home!
and we are so happy. Tito has been gone since September 1st. He was in California helping his parents with some things that needed to be done. He needed to go and see his parents - they are 89 and 91 - and help his mother with some items she couldn't do herself, but I sure did miss him. This is probably the biggest reason I was so blue last week. But now he is back! Yeah!

Eight Months
Kaiden is 8 months old today. He and I spent the afternoon together because his Mom and Dad went to the Broncos game. He and I had a great time! Mom and Dad did too - the Broncos won!
