Tito had some help when he was adjusting the tricyle for Trevin.

Such concentration and determination!

Super Hero

I finally made Trevin's super hero cape.  Now he won't have to wear my apron or go without!
Hmm - looks like Dad stole Kaiden's - maybe I need to make another one!

Kitchen

Tito and I found this cabinet at the thrift shop, he and Kaiden painted it. He added knobs the boys picked out.

and the boys have their own kitchen, complete with oven, pantry, refrigerator, pedestal sink/mixing bowl.
I gathered a few things up around the house to stock the shelves,
I even knitted them smaller versions of the dish cloths we use.  I hope they have as much fun playing with it as we had making it.

Bikers

Trevin is now big enough for the motorcycle (Kaiden did not give up easily).  The pink "cape" is my apron which is what I could find after Kaiden claimed his superhero cape.  I do need to get one made for Trevin - maybe this weekend.
Kaiden still likes to ride the tricycle but we are encouraging him to ride the bicycle with training wheels.

Zoo

For Kaiden's birthday, we promised to take him to the zoo when the weather was warm.  So last week off to the zoo we went.  I don't know what it is about the zoo, but we always manage to get there on the hottest day of the week and when the train is not working!  At least the carousal was running and he got to ride the zebra!
It was warm, but there are a lot of big trees for shade and we had sunglasses, sunscreen, hats and water.It was warm, but there are a lot of big trees for shade and we had sunglasses, sunscreen, hats and water.
Mama and baby peacocks.

Several animals were eating from the hanging cages and Kaiden said "Look they are eating from pinatas."

This time we got to see the elephants - the last time we were here they had just moved into their new home and they were being allowed time to aclimate so we could not see them.  And of course that is what he wanted to see last time.
Kaiden and his elephant ears.
He love maps and he consulted this one all the time to make sure we were going where he wanted.  This time, he wanted to  see those birds that stand on one foot when they sleep.
We found them - just where the map said they would be.

Give a Boy a Camera...

When you let a 5-year old use your camera, you never know what you will find...

A picture of your sun-faded weeding stool;
your window well which needs to be cleaned out;
rocks;
a yellow dump truck;

a close up of the lens cover;

a picture of his brother wearing your super-hero cape; (I have to make another one - shortly after this there was an unhappy 2 year old because the owner of the cape claimed it!)

a few nice pictures of your back yard and

a selfie!

There were actually several of these - but I love how his freckles show up in this one.
