Christmas 2013

Some of these photos are a little blurry. I am still getting used to my new camera and I have not figured out the right setting for bright rooms.

We celebrated Christmas with the kids and my sister the Sunday before Christmas with brunch and a treasure hunt to find the gifts.
Tito helped Kaiden to read the clues, but he figured out where to go for the next one.  He enjoyed doing this.
The clues for the big kids were harder and I was surprised which ones they found the most difficult to figure out - it wasn't the ones I thought.
He did try to read the clues - he might have had a better chance if I had printed them instead of writing in cursive.
Carrie trying to figure out one of the clues I thought she would get right away.
Dave finally hit the jackpot and found his bag.  Trevin just followed everyone around wondering what was going on.  Stacy was the first to find her bag, I didn't keep track of the rest of them.
Trevin opening his gifts.  He put his toothbrush into his mouth right away.
Kaiden looking bored waiting his turn to open his bag.
Trevin took his book to Tito to read and Kaiden was thrilled with his toothbrush.
He was also thrilled with a bottle of bubbles - its the little things.
Carrie with her drawing mannequin.
Trevin helping his Dad open his presents.

Stacy with her tin of favorite cookies.

In the Kitchen, Part II

Kaiden and I spent one day last week baking cookies and bread.
He helped beat the eggs,
sift the dry ingredients,
knead the dough,
 roll it out.
and the best part - taste tester.

In the Kitchen, Part I

The boys spend the night last week and we made waffles on Sunday morning before church.
Kaiden appears to be thinking - this has always been my job, what are you thinking about doing?
Well, he does have to learn and I have some on my hand which needs to be licked.
Hey, I think I need a taste of this.
We did a great job!

Rudolph and Frosty

The boys spent Saturday evening with us and we watched Rudolph and Frosty

 Trevin was interested for short periods of time;
Kaiden and Auntie Carrie didn't move and barely spoke
Except to tell say "Sit down, I can't see"

But we lost Dave somewhere in the middle.

Pig Ears

Last weekend was Winter Fest and Kaiden's pre-school sang.
Everyone wore their elf hats, except Kaiden.  He told me he didn't want to wear pig ears and look silly.
He had worked so hard and memorized the lyrics and sang his heart out.
We were so proud of him.
Then it was time to run around,
hot chocolate,
Lights,
and the ornament he and his family made for one of the trees.

He told us it was his bestest day.

Rapt Audience

I do not remember what Carrie and Dave were doing across the table from him, but he was sure enjoying himself.

Laughing
Clapping
And drinking it all in.

Selfie

Since the word of the year is Selfie - I thought I would share this one of Kaiden
I find these on my camera quite often.

Deja -Vu PJ's Version

A few weeks ago when we had the boys, Trevin wore these glow in the dark pajamas

The same ones Kaiden wore in 2010

Puzzle Time

Kaiden puts so much concentration into putting together these puzzles.

This is a set of four in one box.  He puts them together in the order they are pictured on the side of the box.  Do you think he might have inherited a little bit of my OCD?
Trevin is just delighted when he gets all the pieces to fit!

Who Knew?

Who knew a yard full of leaves could be so much fun? The boys came over and made a bee line to the leaves.
Trevin was very selective.  He picked several up and through them in the air.

Until he found the perfect one
And went off to show it to his Mom, Dad and Tito, while Kaiden collected more
and more until he had quite the handful
which he proclaimed to be beautiful and they are now in a basket on my kitchen counter.

I wonder how much fun they will have when they are old enough to rake the leaves?
