December

We have had the boys quite often this month.  They have been coming over on Mondays and have helped me with decorating and baking.

The enjoy making their own lunches - peanut butter sandwiches, quesadillas and ramen noodles.

On the nice days we went to the park or they played basketball.  Rylan was stomping in the snow to make his "paw" print.

They made snowflakes and cut out old Christmas cards to decorate boxes that I use to give baked goods to the neighbors.

And of course we decorated cookies for Christmas dinner dessert.

I think Rylan and Tito ate more of the decorations than they put on their cookies.

Gavin was really intent on making patterns this year instead of just dumping on the sprinkles.

Kaiden and Trevin had a contest to see who could get the most stuff on one cookie.  I'm not sure who won.

Some of the finished cookies.  Then as is our tradition we ate cookies while driving around to look at the Christmas lights.

Trevin reminded me to take a pictures of all of them with their hats.

I'm glad they still enjoy coming here.

Halloween

We stopped by to see the boys yesterday to give them a little Halloween gift and got to see their jack-o-lanterns.

Stacy sent this picture of Trevin (as some character from Mine Craft?).  Rylan is Sponge Bob Square Pants or Bum Bob as he says it.

Gavin requested to go swimming for his birthday outing.  The rec center we normally go to was closed that day because of a shortage of lifeguards so we went to another one in our city.  This one had a wave pool which was a hit.

We were able to go into the hot tub to warm up since he is 6 now.  He was thrilled.

I lost track of how many times he walked against the waves in order to ride them out on his inner tube.

The look on his face after I got him to put his head under the water.

Guess What Happens?

Guess what happens when you combine a bouncy house and four brothers jumping and bouncing?

Someone ends up with a broken leg.  And it is usually the littlest one.  This happened in September, but I'm behind.  He now has the cast off and is running around again.

Now Who's the Tallest?

It didn't even take until Halloween for Kaiden to pass me up - a good 1/4 inch taller than me.  His next goal is to be taller than his Grandpa - over 6 feet tall.

Someday

Kaiden is getting so tall.  I am sure he will pass me by the end of the year.

He has been coming up to me and saying "Someday I will be taller than you."  So I started saying to him "Someday I will be shorter than you."

Gavin is 6

Gavin is six today.  He had a birthday party over the weekend complete with a bouncy house and friends to play with.

A Pokeman themed birthday cake and decorations.  New toys to play with.

After opening all the fun toys, the pajamas we got him were very disappointing.  I think we can bring his smile back when we go the pool soon for his birthday outing with us.

Rylan is 3!

Rylan turned three today.  We celebrated with cake and ice cream.  When we got there, he was playing with balloons.

He had just caught a balloon here and threw it back to Tito.

His cake was a Disney Cars cake.  All he wanted was to play with the cars.  It was a fight to get him to stay for pictures and blow out the candle.

I think Gavin liked his Thomas the Train toys as much as Rylan did.

First Day of School 2022

Two and a half weeks ago school started for these three - Kaiden's in 8th grade, Trevin's in 5th grade and Gavin's in 1st grade.

Trevin and Gavin getting on the bus.

Kaiden walking to his bus.  Next year they will all be in different schools.

Kindergarten Graduation

I realized I did post pictures of Gavin's graduation from kindergarten last May.

Better late than never!

Summer Part 3

RTD suspended fares on all rides for the month of August, so we took the train downtown with the boys.

The train was not moving when these pictures were taken.

We ate a picnic lunch and took the shuttle down the mall to the Capital.

I didn't mean to cut Kaiden's head off - I was concentrating on getting the One Mile step in the picture.

Rylan did not want to be in any of the pictures.

But I caught him in this one.

The boys in the rotunda with the President's pictures.  I told them the last time I was here Kennedy picture was the last one on the wall.

And of course, we had to stop at the water feature at Union Station.  Rylan kept trying to fill his hands with water and throw it on Tito and me.  When that didn't work, he kept telling Kaiden to get Gram.

The other trip the boys wanted was to go to the museum.  When they say the museum, they mean The Museum of Science and Nature.  The special exhibit was Mazes and Brain Games.  They could build mazes and there were many mazes already set up.  Some used math skills to solve, some were easy enough for Rylan and some were more advanced.  Kaiden and Trevin had fun seeing who could make it through the mazes fastest.  Rylan kept running into the large maze and the older boys had to go in and find him.

Of course, we had to visit the Space exhibit, look at the Animal Dioramas, find some of the hidden gnomes, look at Dinosaurs and visit the Discovery Zone - one of their favorite.

We had a picnic and played in the water feature and then went home.  I'm not sure about them, but I was tired.
