Gratitude #1

Last year when I turned 59 I made a list of 60 things to do before I turned 60.  Well life got in the way.  My job become more demanding; there were sickness and death in the family; a trashed rental had to be repaired and re-rented.  As the big day got closer, I got grumpier.  I wanted the day to just pass by without anyone paying attention.  I figured out that it wasn't the number I was unhappy about but that I wasn't were I thought I would be at this point in my life.  I took another look at that list and noticed that I had listed many things I didn't have much control over for many different reasons and really hadn't listed too many fun things (it was filled with things like clean the basement; clean the garage;).  So I decided I needed a new list.  So today on my 60th birthday, I start to list 60 things that I am grateful for.

Gratitude #1

My friends and family who gathered to celebrate my birthday.

There was good food, laughter and I had lots of help opening my presents!

It was a lot more fun than cleaning the basement!

Fortune

We had Kaiden for awhile on Saturday and went to a Chinese restaurant for lunch.  During lunch he had been singing "don't stop, don't give up, you'll get it right".  (I have been told it is a song from on the TV shows he watches).

The fortune cookies came and I showed him how to break it open and take the paper out and explained it was a fortune telling us something good.  Tito read his, then Kaiden looked at his and said it said

Don't Stop, Don't Give Up

I thought it was a pretty good fortune.

One Man Band

All he needs is a harmonica around his neck!

Birthday Scenes

Batting his Sponge Bob balloon.  He later walked through the house carrying this balloon and a Patrick balloon giving a puppet show!

He received a lot of clothes - much needed, but not too exciting when you are three.  He would pull them out of the bag and toss them aside saying "love it".

He did love his new Curious George book and flipped right to the table of contents to pick his first story.

His Papa is showing him how to use his new drum set.  I want to point out that no grandparent was responsible for this gift - his parents gave this to him.

Happy Birthday, Kaiden

Last Year

I have been going back over the last year's pictures and he has changed so much! 

He has changed so much, he amazes us every time we see him how much he is learning, the conversations we have with him.
