Leprechauns and Green Eggs and Cheese
Kaiden got a calendar for Christmas and he is pretty good about following the days. We were talking about the special days in March and I tried to explain St. Patrick Day to him telling him about the leprechaun's pot of gold and that you need to wear green so no one would pinch you. He looked at me like I was making up stories. A few days later he told me that tomorrow was Leprechaun Day (it wasn't). He told me he could read his calendar and there was writing on the next day so it had to be Leprechaun Day. I realized the writing would be Ash Wednesday so I tried to explain that one to him also. He looked at me like I was making up more stories.
One of the special days in March that isn't on my calendar was Dr. Spock's birthday. Kaiden and I are big fans of Dr. Spock, so he was very excited about having Green Eggs and Ham at school that day. I wonder why Green Eggs and Ham is easier to understand than St. Patrick's Day and Ash Wednesday?
Trevin is a little bit of a ham - he loves to say cheese when you get the camera out!
